(Home-Start WordPress sites only)
In theory, I can remove and replace the WordPress templates I have used on your sites and replace them with a new template that is currently under development and viewable at this location: wingrove-media.com/homestart/
It is not quite a simple replacement as I will also need to replace some artworks in the header and in the sidebar and reconnect everything, and reconstruct the menu and then test.
I think this will take around 4 hours to complete per website. If you are interested in upgrading to a responsive website (mobile friendly) then please contact me. I can provide this upgrade at a fixed cost of £45 per Home-Start website over the next two months.
What is a responsive site?
Unlike the current set of Home-Start websites I have built, this one will adapt and change depending on the width of your screen. The reason it does this is to ensure the user experience on a mobile device is as good as it is on a large screen device. The images below show the difference. Newer sites tend to be responsive because of the rise of mobile intelligent devices accessing websites (iPhone, iPad, Android devices etc).

In the previous image the side bar has disappeared to a position beneath the main content, and also the menu has collapsed to three white lines on a black background.
Terms of the upgrade
The page count and content will remain unchanged, the wrapper or template is what will change, and it’s behaviour on small screens.
I can also include a new type of contact us form which should reduce junk mail and have a simpler “reCaptcha” function in the form, and a new type of Event Calendar as in the example site.
If you are interested in upgrading, please contact me to discuss. There are variations (customisations) in colours on some of the older Home-Start sites, particularly behind the menu. These things are controlled by a style sheet.
Much of my time is spent in deconstructing style sheets and understanding how they work and adapting them. I will not be in a position to spend a lot of time tweaking things within the time allocated to upgrade a site. The content, and sidebar will be similar to your existing site, the footer area is quite different. The overall design, layout and header/ footer will be as the examples previously described.
Additional Edits
If you need extra things not currently on your current site like additional pages, additional artworks, gallery, interactive calendar, newsletter etc, then we need to discuss these prior to starting the upgrade. Additional reasonable costs will apply to things outside of the upgrade, but as I am working on the site anyway these things can be included at the time. We just need to discuss and agree them.
